Curriculum
At Lawton Chiles Middle Academy our curriculum focuses on the Florida
Next Generation Standards. As a magnet school, our special emphasis is
placed on mathematics, science, and technology. Each student attends eight
periods each day, which include math, science, language A, humanities,
global technologies/physical education, language B and two electives.
L.C.M.A. is currently working toward becoming an International Baccalaureate
Middle Years Programme school and has achieved "Candidate Status," after
successfully completing Application A. The staff will turn in Application B
in the fall of 2011 and hope to host an authorization visit in the spring of
2012.
High school credit is offered in Algebra I, Geometry I, Spanish I, and
Latin I.
