Mrs.
Annette Campbell, our Technology Specialist,
came to Lakeland Middle Academy in 1992 when
the school was on site at Jesse Keen Middle
Academy. Mrs. Campbell taught 2 years of 6th
grade English while at the old site and then
transferred over as our school’s Technology
Specialist.
Mrs. Campbell was one of the three
finalists for the Sallie Mae Outstanding Beginning
Teacher Program during her first year teaching
in 1988 as a first grade teacher at Jesse Keen
Elementary. During her second through fourth
years of teaching, Mrs.
Campbell was a Varying
Exceptionalities teacher at Jesse Keen Elementary
and was nominated as University of South Florida’s
Polk County Chapter Alumni Associations Distinguished
Educator Award in 1991. Mrs. Campbell was nominated
as L.C.M.A.'s ( Jesse Keen Middle Academy
at the time) teacher of the year in 1994 while
teaching 6th grade Language Arts.
Mrs. Campbell has been involved
with the educational technology decisions for
Polk County Schools by being a fellow trainer
for other Technology Specialists and a member
of the Computer Advisory Committee for Polk
County Schools.
She is a National Board certified
teacher in the area of Early Adolescent/ English
Language Arts and a member of PILOT (Polk County
Interactive League of Teachers) and the Lambda
chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma teacher's
organization.
