Mrs. Ruth Dusing came to Lawton Chiles Middle Academy in 1995 as a sixth grade language arts and social studies teacher. She taught for 19 years in Polk County, including at Southwest Middle School, Medulla Elementary, Lake Alfred Elementary, and Evangel Christian School. Mrs. Dusing's professional honors include being named Teacher of the Year at LCMA in 1997, receiving a Disney Teacherrific Award in 1999, and being recognized as the Polk County Social Studies Teacher of the Year for 2000. Mrs. Dusing relocated to Ellendale, North Dakota in the fall of 2000 to accept the position of Associate Professor and Chairperson for the Department of Elementary Education at Trinity Bible College.
