Mrs.
Tonya Anderson, eighth grade language arts
teacher, came to LCMA in 1995. She has taught
6th through 10th grades in Virginia and Florida.
As a long time Polk County teacher, she has
taught at Crystal Lake Middle School, Kathleen
High School, Lake Gibson Middle School, and
she came to LCMA from Southwest Middle School
where she taught alpha language arts and alpha
geography for nine years. She has received
the Outstanding Young Women of America award
twice during her teaching career. Not only
was she very active in the training of middle
school teachers for Polk County, a presenter
at the National Core Knowledge Conference in
Orlando, but she has also served as cheerleader
sponsor, yearbook advisor, and Honor Society
advisor at the various schools where she taught.
Outside of the classroom she enjoys spending
time with her family at the beach and watching
movies. Her hobbies include reading, scrapbooking,
and collecting Longaberger baskets. She is
very active in her church and works with the
youth group in their Lads/Leaderettes to Leaders
program.
